About membership of the Electoral Roll

Every year we offer everyone who’s part of B&A the opportunity to sign up to the electoral roll which enables you to vote at the APCM, stand for the PCC and register as a member of B&A officially. To sign up to the electoral roll you need to be over 16 and (or about to be) baptised and either live in the parish, or have been coming to B&A for 6 months.

To sign up you can download the form below or pick one up from the Gathering on a Sunday. If you’ve already registered, you don’t need to re-register, but if you haven’t yet please sign up by 4th April. We publish a full list of names 15 days before the APCM which will take place on the 22nd April.

Under the Church Representation Rules, any lay person is entitled to have their name entered on the church electoral roll if they are baptised, aged 16 or over and meet all of the other applicable requirements.

  1. The only Churches at present in communion with the Church of England are other Anglican Churches and certain foreign Churches.

  2. Membership of the Electoral Roll is also open to members in good standing of a Church not in communion with the Church of England which subscribes to the doctrine of the Holy Trinity where those members are also prepared to declare themselves to be members of the Church of England.

  3. Every six years a new roll is prepared and those on the previous roll are informed so that they can re-apply. If you are not resident in the parish but were on the roll as a habitual worshipper and have been prevented by sickness or absence or other essential reason from worshipping for the past six months, you may write “would” before “have habitually attended” on the form and add “but was prevented from doing so because...” and then state the reason.

For information on how we handle and use your data please see our data protection policy. Nb. In this form, “parish” means ecclesiastical parish.

To join the Electoral Roll please download the form below and email it to ann@babristol.org or return it to the office at 279 Gloucester Road.

PCC Roles

At our Annual Meeting on April 22nd we will vote in new members of our PCC. Some of these roles come with specific responsibilities and we wanted to let you know about those.

For PCC 2023/24 we are praying for the right people to come forward for the following roles:

2 PCC Members, a Secretary, a Treasurer, 3 Deanery Synod Members

The PCC Secretary and Treasurer will be elected once on PCC so at this stage please nominate people to either the PCC or Deanery Synod.

Please send nomination forms to sarah@babristol.org.
